- As the '2020 Miss Korea Miss Seoul' pageant was recently held at the Korea Artist Center in Seoul, Hwang Ho, Director of Hyundai Aesthetic Surgery, was appointed as a judge.
Since its first pageant in May 1957, Miss Korea Miss Seoul marks its 64th edition this year.
Unlike previous years, this pageant prepared for the COVID-19 situation by conducting thorough temperature checks and disinfection right from the venue entrance. Starting in the Gyeongnam region, the pageant is being held across 10 regions nationwide, and after selecting the Jin, Seon, and Mi winners in each region, the final pageant will be held this coming September.
Director Hwang Ho gave a lecture to former Miss Korea contestants on the proportions and harmony of a beautiful face, how the Miss Korea pageants have evolved over the years, and how the trends of beauty have changed through that process of evolution.
He said, "Because the Miss Korea pageant selects representatives of beauty who broadly promote Korea's beauty to the world based on wisdom, virtue, and physique, the contestants are chosen through a systematic and rigorous process," adding, "As a plastic surgery specialist, I plan to judge by considering the standards of beauty that align with Korea's traditional beauty and global trends."
