Dermatology Tier List (2025 Latest Edition): Which top-tier procedures does a practicing specialist honestly recommend?

Hello, this is Hyundai Aesthetic Surgery.

Today, we would like to share a slightly special and honest discussion for those visiting our clinic blog. There are so many dermatology procedures that it can be confusing to know what you should get, or whether the procedure you are looking at is truly effective. So we are revealing a “recommended skin procedure tier list,” organized through a candid conversation with our practicing specialists, Director Kang In-ho and Director Park Jun-gyu.

These ratings were assigned by our medical team after considering the effects and safety they personally experienced from performing the procedures, as well as cost-effectiveness. If you are considering a procedure, this article will serve as a very clear guide. Then let us begin honestly with Grade A, the procedures we recommend most strongly.

Recommended without hesitation! Grade A: Botox, Rejuran, Onda, Ultherapy

First is the long-awaited Grade A, procedures we “recommend without asking or questioning.” Botox, Rejuran, and Ultherapy were selected for this tier. To begin with, Botox is the best procedure in every aspect: cost-effectiveness, results, and safety. It is excellent for preventing and improving wrinkles, and if you maintain it regularly every 6 months to 1 year, it becomes one of the biggest contributors to slowing aging.

Rejuran also fully deserves Grade A. It is even called a “world-class skin booster born in Korea,” and there is nothing quite like it for replenishing moisture and regenerative ability in dry, thinned skin. There is a little pain, but after receiving it, the skin condition changes noticeably, so satisfaction is very high.

Recently, the rapidly rising Onda lifting has also joined Grade A. It breaks the prejudice that “lifting is painful,” and offers excellent effects in reducing fat and improving elasticity without pain, making it one of the best choices for those who dislike painful procedures.

Lastly, there is Ultherapy, the king of lifting. There is a reason it has held the throne in the ultrasound lifting market for nearly 20 years. Although the price is somewhat high, its effect of powerfully tightening the SMAS layer and firmly defining the facial contour is unmatched. It can also dramatically change the impression in men, so it is a procedure our medical team personally ranks as the top skin procedure recommendation.

Consistency is key! Grade B: Thermage, Skin Botox, Thread Lifting, Juvelook

Next is Grade B, procedures with excellent effects that are good to receive consistently. This includes Thermage, Skin Botox, Thread Lifting, and Juvelook. Thermage is actually an outstanding tightening device that would not be out of place in Grade A. It is the best for making the skin firm and resilient, but because of its high price barrier, we placed it in Grade B after considering cost-effectiveness.

Skin Botox is injected shallowly into the skin layer rather than the muscles, providing natural improvement of fine wrinkles and a lifting effect. If the concentration is controlled well, it is a good procedure that can make you look naturally prettier.

Juvelook has recently been gaining attention as a collagen regeneration procedure. Because its particles are fine, it naturally restores volume without much concern about nodular side effects, leading to very high patient satisfaction.

Thread lifting has also been placed in Grade B. It offers a definite effect by immediately and physically lifting sagging that lasers cannot resolve, making it a very suitable option when quick change is needed before an important event.

Consider carefully! Grade C: Sculptra, Revive, Radiesse

From here, we move to Grade C, procedures that require a little more careful consideration. Sculptra, Revive, and Radiesse fall into this category. Sculptra is a collagen-stimulating agent similar to Juvelook, but its particles are larger, so the relative risk of lumping or nodules is higher. For that reason, the trend these days is shifting toward the safer and more effective Juvelook, so we gave Sculptra a Grade C.

Revive and Radiesse are products released by filler companies as alternatives to skin glow injections or for volume, but many doctors evaluate them as having “unclear effects for the price” and being “tricky to inject directly.” It may be helpful to keep in mind that there is a reason doctors do not use them often.

Grade D, not particularly recommended: Titanium

Lastly, for Grade D, procedures we do not particularly want to recommend, we selected Titanium lifting. In fact, Titanium was originally developed as a hair removal laser device. However, in the Korean market, it has been repositioned and promoted as a lifting device, which makes it somewhat ambiguous. Compared with devices dedicated to lifting, we judged its effects and purpose to be unclear, so personally we did not include it in our recommended skin procedure list.

Find the procedure that is truly necessary for you!

So far, we have shared an honest tier list from the medical team’s perspective. In truth, however, these grades are not absolute standards. No matter how highly rated a Grade A procedure is, it is of no use if it does not suit your skin type, and even Grade B or C procedures may become the key to solving your concerns.

What matters is finding not “what everyone else is doing,” but “what you need.” When you visit Hyundai Aesthetic Surgery, we will carefully assess your skin condition and design the most reasonable and effective procedure plan without unnecessary extras.
