Collaboration with a Delaware medical tourism company... Asan Medical Center, Hyundai Aesthetic Surgery, and others also participate

To support the globalization of Korea’s increasingly advanced medical technology, the Korea Tourism Organization signed a memorandum of understanding on the 27th of last month local time in Delaware, USA, with local medical tourism specialist MyMedChoices hereinafter MMC to attract medical tourists to Korea.

The signing ceremony was attended by Yong Sun-jung, director of the Korea Tourism Organization’s New York office; MMC representatives; Delaware Secretary of State Jeff Bullock; and Director of Tourism Elizabeth Keller. From Korea’s medical institutions, Asan Medical Center, Hyundai Aesthetic Surgery, and Juwon Healthcare attended and signed the MOU.

MMC is a medical tourism specialist that sends around 3,000 medical tourists each year from the United States, serving major U.S. companies, organizations, and individuals. In pursuit of a more professional and systematic medical tourism system, MMC joined hands with the Korea Tourism Organization and leading Korean medical institutions Asan Medical Center, Hyundai Aesthetic Surgery, and Juwon Healthcare to further expand the sending of medical tourists.

Director Yong Sun-jung said, “The number of American tourists visiting Korea surpassed 1 million for the first time last year, and the number of medical tourists visiting Korea is also increasing every year,” adding, “Through this MOU, active exchange between the Korean and U.S. medical markets will serve as an opportunity to strengthen momentum after reaching ‘1 million tourists visiting Korea.’”

The Korea Tourism Organization plans to carry out aggressive online and offline marketing using MMC’s network so that efforts to attract medical tourists to Korea can gain further momentum.
